Utility Planet is the official blog for the column of the same name in The Spectrum Monitor. It replaces Utility World in the discontinued Monitoring Times magazine. Utilities are all VLF/LF/MF/HF (and sometimes low-band VHF) radio communications except broadcasting, CB, and non-emergency amateur. Correction of Typo in Post Made 5 Jan 14
Common sense, not to mention the actual Canadian band plan, indicates that the voice broadcast frequency for Canadian Coast Guard MCTS Port aux Basques/VOJ is 2598, not 2898. (It was right in the title.) It has been corrected.
