Readers of this blog might have seen my previous reports on the situation that was created with the ground-breaking WebSDR site when the amateur radio club at the University of Twente in the Netherlands was moved into a new building with no access to the outside.
As I noted at the time, those familiar with universities, and their various rules and procedures, will have no difficulty imagining the nightmare of a group of students getting the physical plant department to make a hole in an outside wall of a campus building. This alone took months, and it was then followed by issues with lightning protection, grounding, metal in the building, interference, and so on.
But now, nearly two years later, the WebSDR is back, and with more coverage of utility bands! I haven't had much time to play with it, but it looks promising. Right now, it covers everything 0-30 MHz, and its small active antenna does an excellent job.
