Utility Planet is the official blog for the column of the same name in The Spectrum Monitor. It replaces Utility World in the discontinued Monitoring Times magazine. Utilities are all VLF/LF/MF/HF (and sometimes low-band VHF) radio communications except broadcasting, CB, and non-emergency amateur. Cycle 24 Finally Underway
Another obvious Cycle 24 sunspot group has been observed for the past several days. While daily fluxes remain about as low as they ever get, there is finally repeated evidence that the new cycle is underway after a long delay.
